Chattanooga, Tenn.—Margaret Jean Kirby Minga, 84, died on Sunday, March 3, 2013. Born September 16, 1928 in Oakland, Calif., she was a daughter of the late William Albert and Margaret Christabel Viera Kirby. She married Ralph Wheeler Minga in 1947. A graduate of Hayword High School in Hayword, Calif., she was a homemaker and a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a member of the Presbyterian church and enjoyed spending time with her family especially making dresses for her daughters and heirloom sewing for her granddaughters. Her hobbies included playing bridge, sewing, shopping for antiques, and clothes/fashion.
Graveside services will be 1 p.m. on Wednesday, March 6, 2013 at the Lann Cemetery in the Greenwood Springs Community. E.E. Pickle Funeral Home of Amory is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include two daughters, Gail Minga Nicholson of Atlanta, GA and Dorrie Minga LaBoue of Evansville, IN; one son, David Ellis Minga of London, KY; two sisters, Margorie Stevenson and Lynnette Burgess; 6 grandchildren, Melissa, Aaron, and Chad Minga; Margaret and Burke Nicholson, Jr.; Amy LoBue of Evansville, IN; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
Pallbearers will be Dean Minga, Greg Norton, Gilbert Whitehead, Aaron Minga, Chad Minga, and Burke Nicholson, Jr.
Visitation will be 10 a.m. until 12:15 p.m. at the funeral home.
