Margaret Gleason Frederick, 87, of Tupelo passed away peacefully at Traceway Retirement Community on December 12.
Known to family and friends as Peggy, she was born July 27, 1937, in Wise, Virginia, to Margaret and William Gleason. In August 1960, she married her beloved husband, Hoyle Nelson (Freddie) Frederick; they celebrated their 47th anniversary before he passed away in 2007. Peggy was a licensed practical nurse and practiced for more than 40 years until her retirement.
Her greatest joys were cooking, especially baking what she called “little hand cookies” for her grandchildren, and spending time with her family. She and Freddie also enjoyed many years of traveling across the United States in their RV. She was active in her church community throughout her life.
Peggy was preceded in death by her parents and her husband. She is survived by her children, Mark Frederick (Conni), John Frederick (Pam), and Scott Frederick (Lisa); her grandchildren, Beth Frederick, Bill Frederick, Taylor MacDonald, Morgan MacDonald, Doug Frederick and Lillie Frederick; and her great-grandchildren, Sophia Frederick and Tovah Frederick.
The family will hold a private graveside service at Haughton Memorial Cemetery in Amory, Mississippi. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Sunday Fund at Traceway Retirement Community are much appreciated.
Memories and Condolences may be shared with her family at EEPickleFuneralHome.com.
