Born on August 11, 1932, in Cardsville, MS, she was a daughter of the late Preston and Ruby Mae Jones Patterson.Mrs. Edge was a seamstress with Wilson’s and Glenn Manufacturing and a homemaker. She was a member of First United Methodist Church. Always taking care of other people, her ministry was baking cakes and taking them to those who had a need. Because of her love and kindness, many people considered her their mother or grandmother. Mrs. Edge enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, cross stitching, quilting, cooking, card games with her sisters and brothers, and dominoes. With life revolving around her family, she is fondly remembered for her taco suppers.She is survived by her daughter, Sharron E. Koomen (Ted), Branson, MO; brothers, Frank “Pat” Patterson (Sylvia) and Doug “Pete” Patterson (Diane), of Amory; sister-in-law, Janet Patterson, Amory; grandchildren, Brad Riggan (Brandy), Carmen Riggan, Matthew Koomen, and Nicholas Koomen; great-grandchildren, Jessica Riggan and Andrew Culver; nephews and nieces, Larry and Mickey Reich; Terry, Glen David and Tommy Tubb; Glenda Clark; Teresa Miller; Lynn and Lisa Patterson; Stan Patterson; Ellen P. Wiygul; and Linzy Patterson.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Johnny Elvin Edge; and sisters, Virginia Reich, Mary Ruth Tubb, Shirley Miller, and Helen Clark.A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1 PM, Saturday, December 31 at E. E. Pickle Funeral Home with Rev. Warren Coile and Rev. Rusty P. Keen officiating. Burial will follow in Masonic Cemetery. Pallbearers will be her family members. Honorary pallbearers will Dr. Danny Moore, Dr. Gerald Parker, Shelly Moffett, and Bro. Jesse Betts.Visitation will be from 5 – 8 PM, Friday at the funeral home.Memorials may be given to Amory Food Pantry, c/o Rodney Summerford, 204 Main St. S, Amory, MS 38821.Memories and condolences may be shared with the family at eepicklefuneralhome.com.
