Eupora – Margaret Zell Douglas, 84, died at Golden Living Center in Eupora. Born on December 14, 1925, in Maben, she was a daughter of the late Tom J. & Ruth Harrell Douglas. A graduate of Mathiston High School, Miss Douglas attended Belmont University and was a graduate of Blue Mountain College. She taught typing and bookkeeping at Amory High School, worked as a secretary for Scribner Equipment Company and served as the assistant clerk for the City of Amory. Miss Douglas was an active member of First Baptist Church, Amory where she taught Sunday school for several years. Enjoying spending time with family, she looked forward to their family gatherings during the holidays. Miss Douglas loved her family, friends and neighbors and enjoyed reading and knitting.
She is survived by several cousins.
A Funeral service will be held at 10 AM, Tuesday at E. E. Pickle Funeral Home, Amory with Dr. Allen Simpson officiating. Burial will follow in Masonic Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Lester Cagle, Tommy Parish, Jerry Reece, Larry Palmer, Tommy Tapp and Gene Haney.
Visitation will be from 9 AM until the service hour on Tuesday.
Memorials may be given to First Baptist Church, P. O. Box 540, Amory, MS 38821 or to a charity of choice.
