Margaret Cook

Amory - Margaret L. Cook, 82, passed away Wednesday, October 3, 2012, at North Mississippi Medical Center. Born in the Quincy Community on January 13, 1930, she was a daughter of the late Clinton E. and Audrey Howell Hill.

In 1946, she married Curtis H. Cook, Sr. After years of traveling with her military husband and four sons, she returned to her family home in Amory. Mrs. Cook made many friends while working at Amory Garment, Sterling’s and Black’s before retiring at age 62. Her church families were Baptist and Methodist at different stages of her life. During the last several years, she enjoyed many wonderful friends and family who enjoyed spending time with her. We will miss her good humor and infectious laugh.

Survivors include two sons, Curtis H. Cook, Jr. of Bolton, CT, and David L. Cook of Tupelo; her daughters-in-law, Linda Cook and Shirley Cook; her brother, Clinton (Bo) Hill of Athens and his wife Sue; six grandchildren, Kristie, Casey, Stacey, Julie, Jacey and Jason; and twelve great-grandchildren in IL, CT and MS. She enjoyed many hours during her last years with a special friend, Cathy Moffett, a special niece, Joyce and Larry Armstrong, a special cousin, Patricia Pinkerton, and tender, loving care provided by Shirley Camp.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2 PM, Sunday, October 7 at E. E. Pickle Funeral Home, Amory. A brief graveside service will follow in Hatley Cemetery where she will be laid to rest alongside her late husband and two teenage sons, George and Wesley, who passed away in 1966. Following the graveside service, friends and family are invited to gather at her home for food and fellowship.

Pallbearers will be David Cook, Curtis Cook, Bo Hill, Butch Moffett, Luke Moffett, Stephen Armstrong, Jimmy Ashley and John Blake Riddle.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 PM, Saturday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be given to Sanctuary Hospice, 5159 West Main St., Tupelo, MS 38803.
