Amory, Miss.—Margaret Marie Turner Bailey, 82, died on Monday, April 29, 2013 at the North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. Born January 8, 1931 in Houlka, she was a daughter of the late William Roy and Lera Smith Turner.
She was a graduate of Becker High School. Guided by her faith in God, she was a member of the East Amory Baptist Church where she served as organist. Much of her time was spent with her sisters and the ladies from East Amory Baptist Church. Her hobbies included watching tennis, gardening, and visiting her son in Florida.
A Celebration of Life Service will be 2 p.m. on Thursday, May 2, 2013 at the East Amory Baptist Church with Bro. Roger Akers officiating. Burial will be in the Haughton Memorial Park. E.E. Pickle Funeral Home of Amory is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include one daughter, Angela Doty (Roman) of Tupelo; two sons, Michael Bailey (Jay) of Vero Beach, FL and Kenneth Bailey of Amory; 3 sisters, Geraldine Ritter, Janette Cantrell (Voy), and Barbara Rollins (James) all of Amory; 6 grandchildren, Eric Bailey (Jennifer), Brittany Fryar (Caleb), Lauren Flynn (Kyle), Dustin Bailey, Demi Doty, and Kenley Bailey; and 5 great grandchildren, Olivia and Kamden Bailey, Brittan and Bella Marie McLearen, and Bailey Grace Flynn; nieces and nephews, Steve Turner (Pam), Sharon Harris (Rickey), Sheila Lynk, Susette Bishop (Jeff), and John Seymour, Jr.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, William L. “Red” Turner, and a sister, Carolyn Hathcock Seymour.
Pallbearers will be Rickey Harris, John Seymour, Steve Turner, Jeff Bishop, and Blake Olson.
Visitation will be 5 until 8 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home and the body will lie in state from 12:30 p.m. until service time at the church.
