Lynn Wood Todd

Bigbee – Lynn Wood Todd, 69, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 31, 2015, at NMMC. Born on August 31, 1945, in Tupelo, he was a son of the late Rufus Gordon and Frances Geneva Owings Todd.

Lynn graduated from Amory High School in 1964. He married Peggy Sargent on February 5, 1988. Before retiring as a self-employed painter, Lynn had worked for Palmer Machine Works and Simmons Furniture as a Frame Supervisor. A member of Cason Baptist Church, he loved the Lord, his church family, and singing in the choir. He was a former member of the Army National Guard. A one-of-a-kind gentleman with a big heart who was full of life and humor, Lynn loved people and enjoyed making them laugh. Passionate about his family, he loved playing with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Lynn was an animal lover, enjoyed singing Gospel music, camping with friends, yard work, deer hunting, and fishing.

Survivors include his wife of 27 years, Peggy Todd, Bigbee; daughter, LaChrisha Young (Kelly), Columbus; sons, Major Chris Boozer, ANG, Retired, (Dana), Tupelo, Kelly Todd, Nettleton, and Ryan Todd (Sarah), Pontotoc; step-son, Matt Wilson (Gay), Nettleton; sisters, Doris E. Shackelford, Amory, Mary Frances East, Evansville, IN; twin brother, Larry Todd (Bessie), Nettleton and brother, Mike Todd (Charlotte), Amory; 7 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; several nieces & nephews; and all his family and friends were special and loved.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Emmit and Valley Hester Todd; sister, Joan E. Edwards; and brother, James Edwin Todd.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11 AM, Friday, April 3 at E. E. Pickle Funeral Home, Amory with Bro. Jim Harrington, Bro. C. D. Currie, and Bro. Lloyd Minor officiating. Burial will follow in Haughton Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Danny and Josh Chism, Brad Clayton, Steve Grissom, Mike Sargent, Joe Hughes, James Thompson, and Greg Lindsey. Honorary pallbearers will be Boyd Duncan, Mitch Willis, Dan Chism and James Rollins.

Visitation will be from 5 - 8 PM, Thursday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be given to St. Jude, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
