Aberdeen — Lyn Sue Hissong Terry, 72, passed away on Saturday, September 29, 2018, at her residence. She was born in Danville, Ohio on November 26, 1945 to Raymond and Jane Elkin Miller Hissong.

Lyn attended Northeast High School in St. Pete, Florida. Lyn was a hard worker and initially she was self-employed at Terry’s Upholstery. Later she learned to work with the public while she worked at McCoys and Big Star. Lyn was of the Pentecostal Faith. She married the love of her life, Thomas Edward “Cutor” Terry and she was blessed with many children during her lifetime. She loved spending time with her kids and her extended family.

A woman who loved the outdoors, Lyn enjoyed playing with her special four legged friend, Minnie. She also liked to watch tv, especially Cash Cab, The Gaithers, and Mel’s Country Diner. She liked to listen to Elvis, Alan Jackson and gospel music. Lyn was a fighter and battled her illness for many years. Her family rests in the fact that she has ultimately won the battle as she is now with her savior.

The family would like to send special thanks to her hospice nurses from Unity and Encompass Hospice, Jessica, Keri, Courtney and Casey. They would also like to thank Carla Cantrell as well as Teresa Childers and the Oak Tree Staff for their donations, care, support during this difficult time in their life.

Lyn is survived by her daughters, Julie Long (Ivan), Aberdeen, Jennie Terry (Ruben Schrock), Aberdeen; sons, George Hissong (Darlene), Athens, Tracy Hissong (Audrey), Aberdeen, Andy Terry (Melinda), Columbus; grandchildren, Dustin & Breanna Long, Aberdeen; Austin Belue & Sam, Amory; Katelyn Easter & Trey, Aberdeen; Anthony Reece & Meghan, Aberdeen; Dana Long & Chris, Aberdeen; Diana Long, Aberdeen; Jessie Melcher & Mallory, Fulton; Devin Melcher, Fulton; Cutor Hissong & Candy, Aberdeen; Rachel Hissong, Aberdeen; Harley Hissong, Aberdeen; Chesney Welch, Aberdeen; Caleb Schrock, Alyssa Schrock; Savannah Childers; great-grandchildren, Peyton Cockrell, Carson Long, Jax Long, Alli Long, Trevor Brown, Patience Brown, Faithlyn Reece, Bailey Woods, Brooks Knight, and Tyler Greenwood; brother-in-law, David L. Cushing, Aberdeen; niece, Tammy Moroney (Darin), Aberdeen; Deanna Williamson (Alvin), Florida.

In addition to her parents, Lyn was preceded in death by her husband, Cutor Terry; daughter, Bonnie Rene’ Terry; sister, Debra Cushing; son-in-law, James Michael Easter.

A funeral service will be held at 2 PM Tuesday, October 2, 2018, at E.E. Pickle Funeral Home with Bro. Robert Earl Fowlkes and Dr. Roy McHenry officiating. A Burial will follow in Howell Cemetery, Monroe County, MS. Pallbearers will include Katelyn Easter, Rachel Hissong, Harley Hissong, Dana Long, Diana Long, and Breanna Downey. Honorary pallbearers will be Samantha Smith, Austin Belue, Savannah Childers, Megan Reese, Anthony Reese, Dustin Long, Cuter Hissong, Chesney Welch, Jesse Melcher, Devan Melcher, and Trey Burt.

Visitation for family and friends will be held on Monday evening, from 5-8 pm at the funeral home in Amory.
