Hatley – Lorene Ross Camp Lindsey, 94, died on Thursday, March 21, 2013, at her residence. Born on October 10, 1918, in Hatley, she was a daughter of the late Elmer and Loubelle Sugg Ross.

Mrs. Lindsey was a graduate of Hatley High School, Class of 1935. Retiring in 1988, she worked as a seamstress in the local garment industry. Guided by her faith, Mrs. Lindsey was a member of Christian Chapel Church of Christ and was a member of the Lady Bugs. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, gardening, flowers, and church hymns. Passionate about children, Mrs. Lindsey enjoyed sewing bears for children that were distributed when they were hospital patients.

She is survived by her husband, James Odis Lindsey, Hatley; daughters, Gail Camp, Hatley and Lanora Demoran (Mike), Vancleave; daughter-in-law, Patsy Tubb, Fulton; twin sister, Ellene Vaughan, Hatley; sister-in-law, Dathol Camp, Hatley; grandchildren, Jeff Camp (Jill), Todd Roe (Kristen), James Camp, David Camp (Shelly), Crystal Camp, Nikki Fowler, Lauren Camp, Michael Demoran, Jr., Clayton Demoran, and Melanie Demoran; 11 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and special friends, Sam and Becky Carpenter.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Woodrow Camp; sons, Leslie and Tony Camp; grandson, Chuck Wiygul; sisters, Evelyn Parham, Retha Mae Lindsey, and Loyce Nell Creely; and brother, Kenton Ross.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11 AM, Saturday, March 23 at E. E. Pickle Funeral Home with Mr. Marshall Eubanks, Jr., officiating. Burial will follow in New Hope Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Elders and Deacons of Christian Chapel Church of Christ. Honorary pallbearers will be the Lady Bugs and Sam Carpenter.

Visitation will be from 5 – 8 PM, Friday at the funeral home.
