Amory, Miss.—Lorene Edwards Box, 90, died on Saturday, December 1, 2012 at her home. Born December 24, 1921, she was a daughter of the late Thomas and Lavada Lewis Edwards.
She married Earnest Box; he died in 1976. Before her retirement, she worked as a seamstress for Amory Garment Co. for 50 years and she enjoyed cooking, sewing, her flowers, and spending time with her family. A woman of faith, she was a member of the Splunge First Free Will Baptist Church.
A Celebration of Life Service will be 11 a.m. Monday, December 3, 2012 at the E.E. Pickle Funeral Home Chapel in Amory with Bro. Dale Ford and Bro. Cody Kennedy officiating. Burial will be in the Liberty Cemetery.
Survivors include two daughters, Helen Holley of Amory and Joyce Tubb (Doyle) of Charleston, MS; 8 grandchildren, Mitzi Frederick (Will), Tammy Marrison (Tim), Kimberly Jarrett (Steve), Petey Bennett (Vickie), Jeannie Newell (Brent), Darlene Evans (Rickey), Sharon Martindale (Randy), and Wade Tubb (Rhonda); 25 great grandchildren; and 23 great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death her parents; son-in-law, Hershell Holley; one son, David Wesley Box; 3 sisters, Louise Patterson, Eva Mae Colburn, and Geneva Duke; and one brother, William Edwards.
Pallbearers will be Wade Tubb, Petey Bennett, Rickey Evans, Jr., Johnny Hawkins, Cliff Martindale, and Tim Marrison.
Visitation will continue until service time on Monday at the funeral home.
