Lonnie Jeffreys, 92, died on Monday September 30, 2013 at the Gilmore Memorial Regional Medical Center in Amory. Born April 9, 1921, he was a son of John M. and Icy Mae Cantrell Jeffreys and he married Sylvia Owen in 1946. He was a minister and an evangelist for more than 50 years and he was US Army veteran of World War II.
Private graveside services will be on Wednesday at the Masonic Cemetery in Amory. E.E. Pickle Funeral Home of Amory is in charge.
Survivors include his wife of nearly 67 years, Sylvia Jeffreys; three sisters, Weda Stanford of Memphis, Avis Gosa of Amory and Rhea Collins of Amory; and special neighbors and caregivers, Philip and Lisa Moore.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Victor and Connie Jeffreys.
