Lola Winters Bean

Carolina Community – Lola Winters Bean, 100, died on Friday, October 17, 2014, at Golden Living Nursing Center, Tupelo. Born on December 17, 1913, in Lee County, she was a daughter of the late Tandy and Dessie Armstrong Bean.

As a youth, she attended Carolina Grammar School. Ms. Bean worked and retired as a seamstress from Amory Garment. She was a member of the Carolina United Methodist Church. She enjoyed working in her flower garden, staying active, and was always willing to help people in need. Ms. Bean loved listening to Southern Gospel. Several workers at the Golden Living Nursing Center said that she was their favorite resident and would be greatly missed.

Survivors include her special friends, Patsy Pettit and Guy Pettit of the Carolina Community. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Eva Mae Bean Black.

A Graveside Funeral Service will be held at 2 PM, Saturday, October 18 at Wiygul Cemetery, Itawamba County, with Bro. Randy Kennedy officiating.
