Lois Glenn Nicholson

Wren – Lois Glenn Nicholson, 85, passed away on Sunday, September 27, 2015, at Oak Tree Manor in Amory. Born on November 10, 1929, in Wren, she was a daughter of the late Robert D. Glenn, Sr., and Obie Wilson Glenn.

Mrs. Nicholson was a graduate of Wren High School and attended MSCW. She married E. G. “Nick” Nicholson in 1949. While living in Washington, DC, Mrs. Nicholson worked for the FBI as a fingerprint technologist for 7 years. Moving back to Wren, she worked for Glenn Manufacturing and Cramco, retiring to care for her parents. A loving Christian and caring lady whose life was guided by her strong faith in Jesus Christ, she was a member of Central Grove Baptist Church, having served as a Sunday school teacher for 50 years and as the church clerk. An avid reader and studier of her Bible, Mrs. Nicholson’s favorite scripture was Ephesians 2: 8-9. She was passionate about her Christianity and animals. She enjoyed spending time with her family, going to church, mowing, playing cards and bowling with her friends, and Swing and Gospel music.

Survivors include her son, Dr. Randy Nicholson and wife, Debbie, of Wren; and brother, Alvin Glenn of Wren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, E. G. “Nick” Nicholson; a son, Ronnie Nicholson; and two brothers, Alvis and R. D. Glenn, Jr.

Her Funeral Service will be held at 2 PM, Wednesday, September 30, 2015, at Central Grove Baptist Church with Bro. Dennis Smithey and Bro. Jim Ray officiating. Burial will follow in Haughton Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Rick Stevenson, Larry Jolly, Bailey Haney, Dennis Thompson, Sr., Rusty Murphree, and Tim Holloway. Honorary pallbearers will be Chris Willis, Tom Booth, Employees of Oak Tree Manor, and Camellia Hospice employees.

Visitation will be from 10 AM – 12 PM and from 1 PM until the service hour on Wednesday at the church.

Memorials may be given to Central Grove Baptist Church, 30298 Central Grove Rd., Aberdeen, MS 39730.
