Smithville - Lois Ellen Clardy, 65, died on Thursday, June 28, 2012, at Shelby Baptist Medical Center, Alabaster, AL. Born on July 14, 1946, in Wren, she was a daughter of the late John Amos and Nora Inez Childers Clark.

After high school, Lois went to Dental School and worked as a dental assistant for 30 years. On April 1, 1983, she married Roger A. Clardy. Lois was of the Baptist faith. An amazing lady who was wonderful, loving, caring, and funny, she cherished spending time with all of her family. Lois enjoyed gardening, collecting pottery, collecting crosses and jewelry, and Gospel music.

She is survived by her husband, Roger A. Clardy, Smithville; daughters, Melissa Poole Huddleston (Duane) and Tammy Sandlin Lansdell (Bobby), of Amory; son, Rocky A. Clardy, Smithville; sisters, Juanita Sandlin (Herschel), Becker, Linda Carter (Truman), Amory, and Dianne Malone (Bill), Aberdeen; brothers, Raymond Clark (Ann), Smithville, Keith Clark (Ruby), Blountstown, FL, and Roger Clark (Joyce), Cullman, AL; grandchildren, Krista Smith, Laken Knight, Hayley Doler, Macie Randolph, and Austin Morris; great-grandchildren, Tyse McDowell, Aleigh McDowell, and Whitney McDaniel; several nieces and nephews; and special friends, Tina Miller and Juanita Sandlin.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Tommy Clark; and a great-granddaughter, Anna Beth McDowell.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 3:30 PM, Sunday, July 1 at E. E. Pickle Funeral Home with Bro. Tommy Whaley and Bro. Truman Carter officiating. Burial will follow in Haughton Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Duane Huddleston, Bobby Lansdell, Lonnie Clardy, Johnny Clardy, Scotty Clark, Craig Lesley, Luke Moffett, and Greg Williams. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Steve Taylor, Dr. Gerald Parker, Dr. Woodrow Brand, Chris Clark, Austin Morris, Tyse McDowell, Gerald Jernigan, Robert Wise, Randy Hood, and Pat Bailey.

Visitation will be from 6 - 8 PM, Saturday at the funeral home.
