Jeanne Watson

Brandon/Smithville - Linda Jeanne Nash Watson, 82, went home to be with her Savior and her husband on Tuesday, May 3, 2022. She was born on January 3, 1940, in Monroe County, to the late Roy and Earlene Knight Nash.

Jeanne grew up in Monroe County and graduated from Smithville High School. She learned the importance of education and went on to get an advanced degree from the Mississippi University for Women. Jeanne worked for over 30 years for the United States Postal Service as a rural mail carrier. Jeanne married the love of her life, Joe Everett Watson, and they had over 53 wonderful years together. God blessed them with three daughters as well as many grandchildren and great grandchildren whom she adored. She was loving and always put family first.

She loved God and was a longtime member of Grace Baptist Church in Brandon, MS. She made many lifelong friends through her membership at the church. The fact that her whole family had been baptized was by far her greatest accomplishment. Jeanne was funny, had off-the-wall quirks, and her great sense of humor always brought smiles to others. Some of her close friends were Willene Leech, Andy Carroll, and Brenda Shackelford. In her free time, she liked to listen to Elvis, enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, often going out to eat and traveling to new places.

Although her presence will be dearly missed, her family knows that she is at peace in Heaven. They will miss her dearly yet the memories with her will live on in their hearts.

She is survived by her daughters, Kim Harrington, Pearl, Kelli Jo Donnell (Steve) Brandon, and Keri Nash Watson (Amy), New Orleans; grandchildren, Courtnee Summerlin (Geremy), Karlee Ledbetter (Dusty), Kelsee Ledbetter (Jarrett), Logan Harrington (Brandon), Nash Harrington (Madison), and Kirkland Ledbetter (Abby); six great-grandchildren; and Mr. Saint, her cat, her was her constant companion who stayed by her side always.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joe E. Watson.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Home Instead for sending the angel, Jackie, who took excellent care of Jeanne for the past three years. They are forever grateful for her and her love for Jeanne.
