Smithville – Linda Joyce McDonald, 60, passed away on Tuesday, September 29, 2015, at her residence in Smithville. Born on November 11, 1954, in New Albany, she was a daughter of the late Kennith and Ella Virginia Garrison Hill.
Linda attended school in New Albany and she went to work at a young age as a Seamstress for Amory Garment Factory. Once it closed, she also worked for Blue Bell and Red Cap Industries. On December 26, 1972, she married Jim C. “Zig-Zag” McDonald and they were happily married. Linda was of the Baptist faith and she was most passionate about her family, especially her wonderful grandkids. A strong-willed woman, anyone that knew her, knew where she stood. She was also a giving person who enjoyed cooking meals for people and sewing items for loved ones. She liked to go fishing and lounging in her pajamas. When it came to music, she liked to listen to the Gaithers, Alabama, and Conway Twitty. Linda left a loving legacy for her family and will be missed greatly.
She was survived by her husband, Jim McDonald, Smithville; sons, John McDonald (Kimberly), Smithville, Jimmy Dale McDonald (Sonja), Smithville; sister, Charlotte Beheler, Cape May, NJ; brothers; Benny Hill, Amory, Robert Hill, Amory; grandchildren, Devin McDonald; Lance and Dayton Milstead; Mikayla and McKenzie McDonald; Brandon Lofton; Camilla and Chase Peeks; great-grandchildren, Bently Milstead, Gabriel Lofton, James Milstead; nephews, Michael and Jeff Dodd; Brandon Beheler; Scott and Jason Hill; niece, Jennifer Renfroe.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Janice Dodd; brother, William K Hill.
The family will receive friends at a visitation which will be held from 6:00 – 8:00 PM, Thursday, October 1, 2015, at the E. E. Pickle Funeral Home Smithville Chapel, Smithville.
