Linda J. Martin

Okolona—Linda Joyce Martin, 76, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 24, 2020 at Shearer Richardson Memorial Nursing Home in Okolona. Born in Tupelo, MS on August 5, 1943, she was a daughter of Bonnie Buford and Elizabeth Matilda Clayton Martin.

Linda was a loving, kind soul. She was one of four children and adored her siblings. Linda was of the Baptist faith. She was a determined individual and absolutely loved cats. Cat calendars, plush animals, and jewelry brightened her days. She was well loved and treated everyone with kindness. When she was younger, Linda enjoyed crocheting and painting. Linda will be dearly missed by her loved ones.

Linda is survived by her brothers, Earl Martin (Marie), of West Point, Prentice Martin, Okolona; nieces and nephews, Susan Hughes (Mark), Linda Adams (Richard), Janet Ballard (Charles), Jennifer Nicholson, Holly Reeves (Will), Matt Martin (Kelly), Daniel Martin (Colby); and a host of great-nieces and great-nephews.

In addition to her parents, Linda was preceded in death by her sister, Eva June Rosentreter Martin; and nephew, Eddie “Bubba” Resontreter.
A funeral service will be held at 1PM on Wednesday, February 26, 2020 at E.E. Pickle Funeral Home, with Bro. Dennis Smithey officiating. There will be no graveside services. Burial will be in Old Union Cemetery in Belden, MS. Honorary pallbearers will include her great-nephews.

Visitation will be from 11AM until the service hour on Wednesday at the funeral home.
