Linda Boren Hurley

Center Point, AL – Linda Boren Hurley, 59, died on Saturday, March 30, 2013, at St. Vincent’s East, Birmingham. Born on October 1, 1953, in Baldwyn, she was a daughter of the late Lawrence C. & Eula Mae Rogers Boren.

Linda moved to Amory in 1976 from Zion, IL. On November 1, 1988, she married Bobby A. Hurley. For ten years, she worked as a CNA with Beverly Healthcare. Linda attended Parkway Christian Fellowship, Birmingham. Hard-working, very loving, and having a big heart, her family inspired and motivated her to live like there was no tomorrow as she battled cancer. Her life was centered on her family, having love and compassion for her patients and their families, and being outdoors in her garden. Linda enjoyed listening to her sons playing in their bands, flowers, and animals.

She is survived by her sons, Mark Chandler (Renee), Hatley, Bryan Chandler (Brittany), Hatley, and William Shane Chandler (Kelley), Tuscaloosa, Alabama; sisters, Peggy Ward (Gary), Center Point, AL, and Carolyn J. Welford (Walt), Golden; brother, Larry Boren, Red Bay; grandchildren, Cody Chandler Mattox and Logan Chandler Mattox; Tessa and Kaley Chandler; C. J. McLemore; and Skylar Chandler; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Jimmie W. Boren.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2 PM, Tuesday, April 2 at E. E. Pickle Funeral Home with Bro. Glen Hughes officiating. Burial will follow in Hatley Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Brian Lewis, Richard Lewis, Jordan Baxter, John Shackleford, Keith Shaddix, and Dennis Ward. Honorary pallbearer will be C.J. McLemore.

Visitation will be from Noon – 1:50 PM, Tuesday at the funeral home.
