Linda Gayle Hathcock

Detroit, AL – Linda Gayle Hathcock, 67, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 15, 2012, at her residence. Born on February 24, 1945, in Amory, she was a daughter of the late Beldon and Ewing Wright Stanford.

Mrs. Hathcock was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church. Before becoming disabled, she was a seamstress at Red Kapp. Mrs. Hathcock enjoyed reading, sewing, crocheting, spending time with her family, Gospel music, and her special friend and puppy, Prissy. A loving, caring, and spunky lady, she loved spoiling all of her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Hilbert Hathcock, Detroit, AL; daughters, Renee Mixon (Jonathon), Detroit, AL, and Renetta Bennett (Chad), Fulton; sons, Travis Hathcock (Missy), Sulligent, AL, Terry Hathcock (Tammy), Greenwood Springs, Tony Hathcock (Tammy), Detroit, AL, and Timmy “Bull” Hathcock, Detroit, AL; grandchildren, Eric Stanford (Lindy), Brian Scott (Cara), Craig Hathcock, Austin Hathcock, Kelsie Hathcock (Daniel), Jessica Canterburry (Will), Lashae Hathcock (Graham), Makayla Hathcock, Zoie Hathcock, Megan Hathcock, Harlee Bennett, Allie Bennett, Alex Bennett, Brandon Smith (Kim), Derrick Cooper (Deanna), Rocky Sides, Aaron Sides, and Alex Sides; great-grandchildren, Braylie Prichett; Hadley Reece Canterburry;, Jayden Cooper, and Natalee Gresslin; Jon Johnson; MaKayla Johnson; McKenzie Gresslin; and Brian, Adrian, and Easton Smith; sisters, Shirley Mills, Detroit, AL, and Marilyn Jones, Smithville; brother, Ricky Stanford (Loretta), Hamilton, AL; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandparents, Lawrence and Madaline Stanford and Howard and Bam Wright; and her father-in-law and mother-in-law, B. G. and Mattie Hathcock.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2 PM, Saturday, August 18 at E. E. Pickle Funeral Home with Bro. Mike Tucker and Bro. B. J. Mills officiating. Burial will follow in Bethlehem Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Craig Hathcock, Austin Hathcock, Brian Scott, Eric Stanford, Rocky Sides, Derrick Cooper, Brandon Smith, and Justin Stanford. Honorary pallbearers will be Tony Scott, Chad Jones, Daniel Kirkman, Graham Pritchett, Will Canterburry, Ben Brewer, Zach Merchant, and Pete Welch.

Visitation will be from 5 – 8 PM, Friday at the funeral home.
