Amory – Linda Dianne Cates, 52, died on Sunday, April 10, 2011, at her residence. Born on October 14, 1958, in Aberdeen, she was a daughter of the late Taylor and Bonnie Flippo Lowrimore.
Dianne was a graduate of Aberdeen High School, Class of 1976, and attended ICC. A very caring, giving and sweet lady, she was a homemaker. Dianne was of the Baptist faith. Her faith and family were very important to her. Dianne enjoyed gardening, yard work, woodworking, pottery, painting and 70’s and 80’s rock.
She is survived by her husband of 31 years, Larry Wayne Cates, Amory; daughter, Taylor Elise Cates, Amory; son, Joseph Wayne Cates, Hamilton, AL; grandson, Mason Garret Cates; sisters, Dawn (Stan) Jones, Ocala, FL, and Carolyn (Steve) Moore, Hernando; brother, Ernest (Diane) Lowrimore, Crawford; sisters-in-law, Janie (Edward) Rock, Amy (Thomas) Stacey, Hazel (Ronnie) Allen and Suzi (Dennis) Thompson, all of Amory; brother-in-law, Terry (Lola) Cates, Amory; several nieces and nephews; and special friends, Joy Sweeney and Elaine Morris. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, James “Jimmy” Lowrimore.
A Graveside Service will be held at 2 PM, Wednesday, April 13, 2011, in Haughton Memorial Park, Amory with Bro. Jesse Betts officiating.
Everyone is asked to meet at the cemetery at 1:50 PM for the graveside service.
