Amory – Linda H. Cadden, 70, died on Monday, June 13, 2011, at North MS Medical Center, Tupelo. Born on March 16, 1941, she was a daughter of the late Relder V. and Ruby Jewell Anthony Horne.
Linda graduated from Smithville High School and was employed in Amory by Dr. B.O. Moore Clinic, MS Funeral Association, People's Drug Co., Security Bank of Amory and the Community Bank also of Amory. She was employed by Internal Medicine of Oxford, MS. Linda loved her family and friends. She was an avid reader and loved shopping. She was a friend to everyone.
In addition to her parents, Linda was preceded in death by her brother, Jerry Horne of Swanee, FL, and her sister, Marion McWhirter of Holly Springs, MS. She is survived by her husband of 32 years, Johnny Cadden, her daughter, Mollye W. Walsh and her granddaughter, Kayla Walsh, all of Amory; her husband's children, Melinda (Fred) Calmes of Tupelo, and their daughter, Mikki; Tommy (Gina) Cadden of Amory and his children, Janet and Kathy; and Terri (Russell) Hughes of Tupelo and their son, Cooper; four sisters: Marcelle Medley, Martha (Joe) Holland, and Jimmie Little, all of Smithville and Carolyn Murphy of Amory; a brother, Jack (Patsy) Horne of Smithville; and several nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life Service for Linda H. Cadden will be held at 4 PM, Thursday, June 16 at First Baptist Church with Dr. Allen Simpson and Steve Greenhaw officiating. Burial will follow in Masonic Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Steve Greenhaw, Dr. Eddie Yoe, and Paul Knox of Amory; Brad Stevens of Smithville; Bill Miley of Columbus; Dr. Tom Randle of Oxford and Jim Spencer and Steve Wallace of Tupelo. Honorary pallbearers will be Community Bank employees, Internal Medicine employees, Dr. Barry Bertolet and Dr. Robert Derveloy of Tupelo.
Visitation will be from 5 - 8 PM, Wednesday at the funeral home. She will lie in state at the church from 10 AM until the service hour.
