Lilliard Eugene Hathcock, Jr., 53, passed away on Wednesday, January 31, 2018 at Gilmore Memorial Hospital. Born on March 25, 1964 in Monroe County, he was a son of Shirley Marie Phillips Collier and the late Sgt Lilliard E. Hathcock, Sr. He attended school in the Amory Schools. Before becoming disabled, he was employed by Amory Sand and Gravel and the Wax Seed company as a driver. He was a member of the Amory Church of Christ.
Eugene enjoyed watching NASCAR racing on television. He was an avid Alabama Football fan. Most of all he loved his dog, Gadget and his cat, Sugar Foot. Eugene was a kind hearted man who will be missed by his family.
In addition to his father, was preceded in death by his grandparents: Mildred and Levi Phillips, Bertha and William Hathcock.
He is survived by his mother, Shirley Collier of Amory; Step-father, William Collier, Beaverton, Alabama; brother, Kendall Hathcock (Michelle), Amory; Niece, Kaitlyn Hathcock, Amory; Nephew, Austin Hathcock, Amory; Aunts, Wendy Roebuck, Smithville and Janie Love, Florida; and a host of cousins.
A celebration of life service for Eugene Hathcock will be on at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, February 3, 2018 at E.E. Pickle Funeral Home. Mr. Philip Hathcock will be officiating. Burial will follow in Hatley Cemetery. Pallbearers will be: J.J. Cunningham, Johnny Northington, James Holloway, Austin Hathcock, Timothy Jordan and Chris Miller.
Visitation for Mr. Hathcock will be Friday evening, February 2, 2018 from 5:00 – 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
