Lillian Loreen Kemp

Loreen was born October 11, 1948 in Fort Duchesne, Utah to Jackie Duane & Hazel Ellen (Young) Coop. When she was 8 yrs old, she suffered the loss of her mother in Oregon. Loreen being the oldest of her siblings was told by her mother that she was in charge of taking care of her siblings. She took this 'mission' on, for her entire life. Any time their were disagreements between her siblings it was her mission to bring peace.

The death of her mother also brought on being raised by family members on the Uintah-Ouray Reservation in Utah for a couple years. On her 10th birthday, her father married again. Loreen and her siblings were then moved back to Oregon.

A year after graduating from North Bend High School (Class of 1966) she married Arthur Lewis Dockery, Sr. Oct 9, 1967 in Murphy, North Carolina. In that union she had two living children of nine., Arthur Lewis, Jr. and Harley Jerome Dockery. Because her heart swelled with a love and desire to have a large family, she and her husband made the grand decision to adopt five more children, Michael Saul, Jeff Dale, Candy Michelle, Jose Luis and Richard Gomez.

Besides being an amazing, loving momma to her 7 children, she somehow figured out how to contribute to the financial side of her household. She held jobs at various places such as Golden Eagle Archery in Creswell, Oregon, Loreen's Answering Service in Cottage Grove, Oregon, Don's IGA in Somerset, Kentucky, WJDJ Radio Station(advertising sales) Somerset, Kentucky and Combined Insurance Company in Tennessee.

After 27 years in this union, Loreen moved on. She tried to reinvent herself by going to Albuquerque Technical Vocational Institute where she would come out victorious by landing on the Dean's list numerous times and graduating with an Associates degree.

She loved to travel. She was known far and wide across this United States on the Powwow circuit for her traveling bead store and beautiful jewelry. For many years she did not miss an event!

While living down in this part of the country, she met her Texan, fiddle playing cowboy, Walker Eugene Floyd. They joined in marriage March 25, 1995 in Van Horn, Texas. In early 2000's, Walker would become ill with the onset of Alzheimer's. She cared for him until his death in 2004.

She moved back to Tennessee in the following years to be closer to her children and met, fell in love with Jere Mac Buckley of Dresden. They quickly became engaged to be married but would not be able to go through with the official vows due to the impending death of Jere from Cancer. He passed in 2008. During this time, she had become friends with Jere's best buddy, Tommy Lynn Kemp of Paris. A love blossomed between the two and she would marry her 'Captain' on August 18, 2010 in Gatlinburg, Tennessee. This union lasted until his death from Alzheimer's in October of 2022 in Florida. Loreen was lost without her best friend and had a broken heart!

She wanted to move closer to her children again as her health was rapidly failing her. So they scooped her up and moved her to Smithville, Mississippi December 2022.

When she could no longer travel she turned to a new hobby in which she fell in love, quilting. This quickly became a passion. She created memorable quilts for her family and friends.

She had some rough spots in the last year but peacefully passed away at her home on the morning of January 28, 2024.

Lillian Loreen Kemp will be sorely missed by all who knew her. She was known for her momma instincts, a peacemaker to a fault and her loyalty to those she loved and cared for!

She is preceded by her parents, grandparents, her brother Jay Dee Coop, her sister Patricia Ann Coop, her grand daughter Patricia Ann Dockery and many more family members in which she was very close too!

She is survived by her children whom she saw no distinction, Lewis & Thera Dockery, Harley & Tammy Dockery, Michael Dockery & Julie Westman, Jeff & Amy Dockery, Candy Michelle & Eppy Armijo, Joe Dockery & Cheryl Closs, Ricky & Christie Dockery. Numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Her siblings, Elaine Jordan, Jacquie Eyre, Nelson & Mackie Coop, George & Wendy Coop, Julie & Craig Dewey. Numerous nieces and nephews.

Much gratitude and love goes out to her children who were assisting and caring for her this last year!
