Lillian L Freshour
On April 18, 2024, Lillian Gray Freshour, 96, passed away and met Jesus face to face and had a joyful reunion with the loved ones waiting for her in heaven. Lillian was born December 24, 1927, in Nettleton, MS to the late Will Gray and Flora (Bailey) Gray.
Lillian grew up in a family with four siblings and attended Nettleton High School. She was a hard worker and was a talented seamstress for many years in the clothing industry. She was a loyal employee of Reed’s Manufacturing and retired from there after her 29th year in service. Lillian loved people, always put them first and she cherished the family God gave her.
Lillian loved the Lord and was a longtime member of Nettleton Pentecostal Church. In addition to fellowshipping with her church family where she gained some of her closest friendships, she also enjoyed singing in the church choir. When she wasn’t in God’s house, she liked listening to gospel music.
In her free time, she enjoyed camping, fishing, working in her garden, and sitting on her front porch. Anything outdoors gave her great peace and she liked to just slow down and cherish the family God blessed her with. In her life, the thing she was most proud of, was raising her children and grandchildren.
Such a caring and loving woman, Lillian will be greatly missed by her family and friends. They know that she is in the presence of the Lord and that gives them peace.
She is survived by one daughter, Wanda Sheffield, Saltillo, MS; one son, Donnie Freshour, Nettleton, MS; one sister, Earnestine Roberts, Amory, MS; four grandchildren, Michael Lumpkin, Tonia Elrod (Lee), Donna Lewis (David), and J.T. Freshour; 2 great-grandchildren, Bryanna Courtney (Jamie) and Bailey Elrod; three great-great grandchildren, Kelsye, Paige, and Raylynn.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Will Gray and Flora (Bailey) Gray; sister, Adelene Randolph; and two brothers, Carlos Gray and Wesley Gray.
