Amory – Lena Lee King, 92, died on Monday, July 2, 2012, at River Place Nursing Center. Born on November 23, 1919, in Monroe County, she was a daughter of the late Walter and Willie Mae Gordon Camp.
Mrs. King attended Trace Road School. In 1942, she married Cliff King. Retiring in 1984, she was a seamstress with Monroe Trousers. Mrs. King was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. A feisty and independent lady, she loved her family dearly and enjoyed quilting, crocheting, fishing, and watching Gospel Channel 39.
She is survived by a daughter, Dot Dean (Junior), Amory; son, Herman King, (Linda), Smithville; 5 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by 3 sisters.
A Graveside Service will be held at 11 AM, Wednesday, July 4 in Wren Cemetery with Pastor Shane Crawford officiating. Visitation will be from 9 – 10:30 AM at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Chase Tubbs, Alex Tubbs, Blake Dean, and Chris Bourland.
