Amory – James Lee Coggins, 50, passed away on Friday, December 30, 2016, at NMMC, Tupelo. Born on February 2, 1966, in Aberdeen, he was a son of the late James David Coggins.
Lee was compassionate young man who touched many lives during his lifetime. His family was the most important to him in his life and he cherished those closest to him. He was loved by his foster parents Bernis and Merigold Tartt and his heart of gold was obvious to all that met him. Lee graduated with the Nettleton High School class of 1986 and he obtained some additional education at ICC. He was a member of Cason Baptist Church and he showed his Christianity by the way he treated everyone, with sincerity and kindness. Lee always helped and served others and he would often tell others “I Love You”. He was a hard worker and he always served the public. He worked at Hardees, Wal-Mart, and McDonalds for over ten years. He was a dedicated employee and friend who always had time to listen to you.
Everyone that met Lee was treated kindly and with sincerity. He always had a contagious smile and his joy was obvious to all that interacted with him. He loved children and he often would inquire about family members when he stopped to talk with someone. He loved all kinds of music, and loved History. He was gifted with the ability to write using Calligraphy and he enjoyed reading. He never met a stranger during his walk and his beautiful spirit will live on in those that knew him.
