Amory - Lecil Riley Ball, 71, passed away on February 11, 2017 at the North Mississippi Medical Center. Born in Monroe County on August 31, 1945, he was a son of the late Cecil Riley and Lena Faye Adams Ball.
He obtained an associate degree from Itawamba Community College with certificates for many work related jobs. He was a member of the Rocky Springs Baptist Church for over 60 years. He married the love of his life, Willene Maxwell Ball on September 6, 1963. Lecil’s career included working for Glenn Manufacturing, Futorian, Walker Manufacturing, Bryan Brothers, Tecumseh and retired from Eldger Industries.
Lecil was an outdoors man who loved to fish and hunt. He especially loved to work with his coon dogs and raising horses. Riding his horses was the most relaxing to him. He also loved to garden and share his produce with his family. In his spare time, he loved to listen to Patsy Cline and Johnny Cash.
Lecil loved his family with all of his heart. Never a day went by that he did not want them to come and visit.
He is survived by his wife, Willene Maxwell Ball; daughter, Melissa Faye Rose (Justin), Aberdeen; sons, Christopher T. Ball (Melinda R), Amory, Kevin D. Ball (Melinda Q), Amory, Gregory S. Ball, Amory; brother, Darris Ball (Debra), Amory; Grandchildren: Nicole, Christopher, Samuel (Nicole), Dustin (Emily) Ball, Corey Ball, Megan Smith, Callie Cagle, Kayla Merritt (Brandon), Joe Dodd, Hannah and Hunter Riley McNeese; Great Grandchildren: Layla Harris, Cheyanne, Amanda, Audra, Megan, Michael, Madison, Bryson, Colton and Trey Ball, Kenzlie Merritt, Benjamin Dodd; Nieces and Nephews, Shawn, Chasity, Kimberly, Billy, Christopher; Special friends, James Joynes and Grey Smith.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Terry Ball and his grandparents.
A celebration of life service for Mr. Lecil Ball will be at 2:30 P.M.on Monday, February 13, 2017 at E.E. Pickle Funeral Home Chapel. Bro. Alvie Isaac and Bro. Justin Simmons will be officiating. Burial will follow in Lann Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Dustin, Sam, Christopher, and Cory Ball, Joe Dodd, Gary Wouldridge. Honorary Pallbearers will be Robert Weaver, James Joyner, Gray Smith.
Visitation will be from 12:00 – 2:15 P.M. on Monday, February 13, 2017 at the funeral home.
