Wren – Lawrence Walden, 87, passed away on Sunday, June 21, 2015, at Darlington Oaks, Verona. Born on April 18, 1928, in Amory, he was a son of the late James Clayton and Marguerite Dryden Walden.
Mr. Walden attended Becker School and married Joy Bell Coker on July 23, 1949, in Amory. As a man of Christian faith, he was a wonderful provider who taught his family and lived out great values of honesty, integrity, and trust. Having a good work ethic that was passed onto his family, Mr. Walden worked as a foreman in the cutting department in the Amory and Smithville garment plants. One who loved to stay busy, he farmed on the weekends. He loved to spend time with his family. A true craftsman with his hands, one of the projects he was proud of was building apartments with his wife. He enjoyed hunting, farming, gardening, and all types of music. His favorite sayings were, “I told you so,” and “No problem.”
