Laverne Carpenter White

Cason Community – Laverne White, 78, died on Saturday, September 1, 2012, at Gilmore Memorial Regional Medical Center. Born on September 1, 1934, in the Cason Community, she was a daughter of the late Chester and Effie Hester Carpenter.

Mrs. White married Hansel “Hank” White on May 11, 1957. A seamstress, she enjoyed working in the pants factories until her retirement. Mrs. White was a good mom who enjoyed the outdoors, walking, and loved her dogs, especially Baby Dumplings.

She is survived by her son, Tony White; nieces, Sylvia Guyton and Wanda Dzikielewski (Joe); and nephew, Billy Guyton, all of the Cason Community; and sister-in-law, Earline Brock Gilmore, Amory.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Hansel White; sister, Lucille Guyton (Bill); and brother, J. H. “Pete” Brock.

A Graveside Service will be held at 1 PM, Tuesday, September 4 at Liberty Cemetery with Bro. Tommy Whaley and Bro. Shane Crawford officiating. Pallbearers will be Bobby, Joe and Zach McGonagill; Brandon Sargent; Josh Scruggs; Roger Dean; and Gene Conwill. Honorary pallbearers will be David Randle and members of the Motorcycle Club of Guin, AL.

Visitation will be from 11 AM – 12:30 PM, Tuesday at the funeral home.
