Born on April 14, 1941, in Hueytown, AL, she was a daughter of the late James W. and Annie McRae Tucker.Mrs. Franklin graduated from Hueytown High School, Birmingham, AL, Class of 1960. She married Charlie R. Franklin on June 17, 1961, in Hueytown. Before becoming a homemaker, Mrs. Franklin worked in the shipping department at Amory Garment. Strong in her faith, she was a member of First Free Will Baptist Church, Amory. A good, Godly woman, Mrs. Franklin enjoyed spending time with her grandsons, traveling with her husband, working crossword puzzles, reading, listening to Gospel music, and going out to eat and going to yard sales with her close friends.She is survived by her daughter, Teresa Blaylock (Terry), Greenwood Springs; grandsons, Austin and A. J. Blaylock, Greenwood Springs; sister-in-law, Edna Cox (Dick), Smithville; brothers-in-law, O’Neil Franklin (Carolyn), Guin, AL, and Mackey Franklin, Nettleton; nieces and nephews, Tim Knight (Elaine), Smithville, Terry Knight (Judy), Smithville, Denise Rawls (Wade), Winfield, AL, and Danny Franklin (Teresa), Nettleton; and special friends, Betty Ashton, Wanda Taylor, Joan Parchman, Mary Easter, and Inez Cagle.In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a step-sister, Carolyn Ashcraft; and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Mathis and Lilly Mae Rogers Franklin.A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2 PM, Sunday, December 11 at E. E. Pickle Funeral Home with Bro. Chris Mitchell and Bro. Ricky Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Young Memorial Garden. Pallbearers will be Sonny Riggan, Lionel Stegall, Tim Knight, Terry Knight, Wade Rawls, and Jerry Blaylock. Honorary pallbearers will be Tyler Gray, the Staff of Oak Tree Plantation, and the staff of Camellia Hospice.Memorial may be given to the American Cancer Society, c/o Beth May, PO Box 269, Amory, MS 38821.Memories and condolences may be shared with the family at eepicklefuneralhome.com.
