Larue Katherine Jones

Tullahoma, TN – LaRue Katherine Kennedy Jones, 90, died on Wednesday, October 3, 2012, at Harton Regional Medical Center. Born on November 10, 1921, in Smithville, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Janie Mansell Kennedy.

Mrs. Jones was a graduate of Smithville High School, Class of 1939. Passionate about nursing, she worked as an LPN with Dr. W. T. Oakes over 20 years. Mrs. Jones was of the Mormon faith. She enjoyed working in the yard, sewing, and watching the Grand Ole Opry. Mrs. Jones had lived with her daughter in Tullahoma since Christmas 2008.

She is survived by her daughter, Cathy Jones Eifert (Charles), Tullahoma; grandchildren, Todd Eifert, Angela Wade, and Shawna Eifert; great-grandchildren, Addison Eifert, Mallory Eifert, and Timmie Gooch.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Archie “Mutt” Jones; and brothers, Houston, Wilford, Ernest, and Joseph “Bug” Kennedy.

A Graveside Service will be held at 11 AM, Friday, October 5 in Masonic Cemetery with Mr. Gene Kennedy officiating.

Visitation will be from 10 – 10:45 AM, Friday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be given to a charity of choice.
