Fort White, FL – Larry Edward Hadaway, 61, died Friday, October 10, 2014, at his home after an extended illness. Born on January 31, 1953, he was a son of Joyce Basham Hadaway and the late Charles E. Hadaway.
Larry graduated from Amory High School in 1971. He was employed by The City of Amory Electric Department for 10 years before moving to New Orleans, LA, as a self-employed commercial painting contractor, which later moved him to Fort White, FL. Retiring 2 years ago, Larry enjoyed traveling, spending time with family, cooking, entertaining, fishing and football, especially LSU and the New Orleans Saints. He loved animals, especially his beloved dog, “Biscuit.”
He is survived by his wife, Gloria Hadaway, Fort White, FL; mother of Amory; daughter, Amanda Hadaway-Wideman (Jeff), Amory; son, Rob Hadaway (Tammy), Dallas, TX; step-son, Ben Rogers, Metairie, LA; brothers, Eddie Hadaway, Lynn Hadaway (Annie), Jerry Hadaway and Teddy Hadaway (Deloris), of Amory; sister, Brenda Cox (Ronnie), Nettleton; grandsons, Jason Hadaway and Wesley Preston; granddaughters, Jordan, Logan, Davin and Braelynn Hadaway; a host of nieces and nephews; and many dear friends, including Dr. Charles and Donna Nardi, BJ and Doris Osteen and Eddie Wilemon.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his grandparents and several uncles.
A Memorial Service will be held at 4 PM, Saturday, October 18 at Trace Church Road Baptist Church with Bro. Jamie Stark and Bro. Chris Mitchell officiating.
Visitation will be from 3 PM until the service hour on Saturday at the church.
Memorials may be given to a local hospice of choice.
