L. C. Sims

BECKER - L.C. Sims, 89, passed peacefully in his sleep Friday, May 22, 2015, at River Place in Amory. Born September 2, 1925, in Quincy, he was a son of the late Travis and Effie Dowdle Sims.

He lived in Becker all his life and honorably served his Country as a Marine in World War II and later in the National Guard. On September 17, 1948, he married Helen Tubb. L.C. worked as a foreman at Kerr McGee for 35 years. A faithful follower of Christ, he served as a Deacon, Sunday school teacher and Disciple Training teacher at Becker Baptist Church. His faith in God was the most important part in his life followed by his family and friends.

A man of many gifts and talents, L.C. was big-hearted and loved to laugh. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. From gardening to his produce stand, L. C. could do most anything. One who loved a good meal, he especially enjoyed Saturday morning breakfasts at LuLu's followed by riding around in his truck with his brother-in-law, Jerry Tubb.
