Kim Hood, 61, of Hattiesburg passed away on October 18, 2021 at Merit Health Wesley Medical Center. Visitation will be Thursday, October 21, 2021 at Temple Baptist Church in Hattiesburg, MS from 11 A.M. until service at 1 P.M. followed by burial in Highland Cemetery. There will be no local services.
Mrs. Hood was a member of Temple Baptist Church. She taught herself how to build her own website, and began two blogging websites, one for devotional and another that was a home and gardening style blog. She loved to sew and DIY anything she could. She was a fantastic interior decorator. She enjoyed helping others at her church in Houston, MS, through a free medical clinic, teaching Sunday school, and cooking for church functions.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Dean Shuck; her father-in-law, James Hood; and a sister-in-law, Nicole Hood.
She is survived by her husband, Jeffrey Hood of Hattiesburg; her son, Nolen Hood of Atlanta, GA; her daughter, Carley Hood of Dublin, GA; her parents, Kate and Ron Shuck of Hattiesburg; her brother, Brad Shuck (Lori) of Sumrall; four nephews, Jarrod Shuck, Michael Shuck (Cheyenne), Brent Shuck (Ashley), and Jake Hood; two nieces, DeAnna Dearman (Devan), and Shelby Hood; a sister-in-law, Delma Sims; her mother-in-law, Jeanne Hood (Clay Miles); and a brother-in-law, Bradley Hood.
