Peppertown – Kenny Bruce Tubb, 60, died suddenly on Thursday, May 29, 2014, in Fulton. Born on November 21, 1953, in Amory, he was a son of Dan Tubb and the late Clara Cain Tubb.
Kenny attended Hatley High School and served in the US Army during Vietnam. He grew up in the Hatley Primitive Baptist Church. He married Machelle Mayben on May 6, 2000. Kenny was employed by Tri-State Realty, Tupelo, working as a carpenter most of his life. He also served as a Monroe County Deputy, worked for Aberdeen Police Department, and was a member of the Itawamba County Rescue Squad. Family oriented, Kenny enjoyed spending time with his family, friends, children, and grandchildren. He loved his horses, especially, Trigger, hunting, fishing, helping other people and Ole Time Rock and Roll music. Very competitive and always happy, Kenny was a practical joker, was selfless in thinking of others first, and had a positive outlook on life.
He is survived by his father, Dan Tubb, Amory; wife, Machelle Tubb, Peppertown; daughters, Amelia Tubb Allen, Amory, Jessica George (Jason Stubblefield), Peppertown, and Cindy Whitten, Grenada; sons, Joseph Tubb, Smithville and Justin Riley, Peppertown; brothers, Ronnie Tubb (Patsy), Fulton, Danny Tubb (Judy), Acworth, GA, and Eddy Tubb (Martha), Pensacola, FL; grandchildren, Dakota Jane Parker, Patrick Samuel Wayne George, and Hunter Jay Stubblefield; nieces and nephews, Daniel Tubb (Ashley), Alysha Tubb LaPlant (Tim), Andrew Tubb (Angie), and Nikki Fowler; and several great-nieces and nephews.
In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Cooley and Doshie Tubb and Claude and Flora Lilly Cain.
A Funeral Service will be held at 2 PM, Sunday, June 1 at E. E. Pickle Funeral Home with Dr. Lloyd Sweatt officiating. Burial with Military Honors will follow in Hatley Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ronnie, Danny, and Eddy Tubb; Kurt Robinson, Andrew Tubb, David Parker, and Justin Riley. Honorary pallbearers will be Johnny Newsome, Daniel Tubb, and Don Fowler.
Visitation will be from 5 – 8PM, Saturday, May 31 at the funeral home.
