Amory – Kenneth Jay Price, 71, passed away at North Mississippi Medical Center – Tupelo, MS, on Friday, January 20, 2023. He was born on April 21, 1951, in North Carolina to the late A. J Price and Bernice Aldridge Price.
Kenneth grew up in Lowndes County and graduated from Lee High School in Columbus, MS. He served in the United States Army from 1971-1974. When he was younger, he was a race car driver, he raced against people such as Bobby Allison and Mark Martin. Kenneth was self-employed as a restaurant owner as well as an Administrator over the Veterans Program at the Columbus Municipal Court.
He was a sweet person and treated his wife, Virginia Gail Wittke Price like a queen. He loved to cook, fly his planes, and drive race cars. He was a Southern Baptist and believed in the Lord. Kenneth especially loved Christian music and church hymns. He was a member of the American Legion and enjoyed spending time with close friends, such as Bobby and Robbie Wilkerson. Kenneth was passionate about giving to The Wounded Warrior Project.
He will be missed dearly by those who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his wife, Virginia Gail Price, Amory.
A Memorial service will be held on Saturday March 18, 2023.
