Amory - Kenneth Roy “Nub” Gilmore, 58, died on Monday, November 1, 2010, at West Point Community Living Center. Born on July 11, 1952, he was a son of the late Opal H. & Annie Pearl Brock Gilmore.
Nub was a graduate of Amory High School, Class of 1971. He was a member of Bigbee Baptist Church and a former member of the US Army National Guard. Nub had worked as a painter and a surveyor before working in the shipping and receiving department at Rose Hill. Living life to the fullest, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and watching Westerns on television.
He is survived by his step-mother, Earline Gilmore, Amory; sisters, Linda Tidwell and Betty (Charles) Plunkett, both of Amory; brother, Kenny (Gena) Gilmore, Amory; several nieces and nephews; and special friends, Charlotte Ables, Red Bay and his faithful companion, Reecie.
A Funeral service will be held at 2 PM, Thursday at E. E. Pickle Funeral Home, Amory with Bro. Tommy Whaley officiating. Burial will be in Liberty Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Michael and Tony Plunkett, Bobby Cantrell, Greg Lindsey, Danny Stanford and Cecil Cantrell.
Visitation will be from 5 – 8 PM, Wednesday at the funeral home.
