Smithville— Ken William Mason, 67, passed away on Sunday, February 4, 2018, at NMMC, Tupelo. Born on November 12, 1950, in Smithville, he was a son of Carl Daniel and Maxine Hill Mason.
Ken served in the United States Marine Corps from 1969-1971 as a heavy equipment operator. He was stationed at Camp Lejeune in the Marine division. Ken received the National Defense Medal as well as Vietnamese Service Medal and Vietnamese Campaign Medal. He was a proud Mason of the Smithville Lodge 0548. In his free time, Ken was an enthusiast of guns and knives.
On February 16, 1984, Ken married the love of his life, Dannis. Ken and Dannis spent many happy years together. Above all, Ken enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren. Ken will be missed, and he leaves behind loving memories for his family to cherish for the years to come.
Ken is survived by his daughters, Becky Wright (Lee), Tupelo, Lana Glasgow (Adam), Amory; son, Cayce Carter, Smithville; sisters, Nikki Thompson, Wheeler, Glenda West (Dan), Aberdeen; grandchildren, Brooke, Trevan, Archer, Austin, Ginny Lee, Elia, Katie, Bubba; great-grandchild, Mila Faith Quigley; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents, Ken was preceded in death by his wife, Dannis Mason; and brother, Wayne Mason.
A Memorial Service will be held at 6:30 PM on Wednesday, February 7, 2018, at E.E. Pickle Funeral Home, Smithville.
Visitation will be on Wednesday evening from 5-6:30 PM, at the funeral home.
