Amory - Kathy Cox Cadden, 51, died on Tuesday, May 27, 2014, at Gilmore Memorial RMC after an extended illness. Born on February 5, 1963, in Amory, she was the daughter of Arvella Majors Cox and the late Bert Cox.
Until becoming disabled, Kathy was the School Business Administrator for Amory City Schools. She was a 1981 honor graduate of Amory High School and received a Bachelor of Accountancy Degree from The University of Mississippi in 1985. On December 21, 1985, she married Carl Cadden. Kathy was a member of St. Andrew's United Methodist Church. She was a fan of all sports, especially Ole Miss football and the Atlanta Braves, and enjoyed playing tennis.
Survivors include her husband of 28 1/2 years, Carl; son, Blake, and daughter, Kelsey, her mother, Arvella, and her brother, Steve (Angelia), all of Amory.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a brother, Harold; and grandparents, Artemus and Elsie Majors and Lester and Sadie Cox.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11 AM, Friday, May 30 at St. Andrew's United Methodist Church with Rev. Brian Gordon officiating. Burial will follow in Masonic Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Sam Nerren, Tim Rutledge, Greg Harris, Steve Stockton, Sam Smith, Jimmy Glenn, Richard Aldridge, and Mart McMullan. Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Griffith and John Allmond.
Visitation will be from 5 - 8 PM, Thursday, May 29 at E. E. Pickle Funeral Home. Kathy will lie in state from 10 AM until the service hour at the church.
