Kathryn Hawkins Johnston

Amory – Kathryn “Kathy” Hawkins Johnston, 53, died on Friday, February 17, 2012, at her residence. Born on June 26, 1958, in Amory, she was a daughter of Madgie Marie “Peggy” Hawkins Thunderburk and the late Tulon Hawkins.
Kathy attended Hatley High School. She was a member of Faith Baptist Church. An outgoing lady who knew everyone, Kathy loved to laugh. She worked part-time with A-1 Furniture. Kathy’s family, especially her children, was her life.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 3:30 PM, Sunday, February 19 at E. E. Pickle Funeral Home with Bro. Wade Cook officiating. Burial will follow in Haughton Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Randy Lyle, Vince Patterson, Chris Randolph, Herman and Josh Tomlin, and Glen Berryhill.
Visitation will be from 1:30 – 3:15 PM, Sunday at the funeral home.
She is survived by her daughter, Kayla M. Harlow, Amory; son, Brandon Cox, Becker; mother, Peggy Thunderburk, Amory; step-brother, Randy Lyle, Huntsville, AL; grandchildren, Destinee and Bryce Johnston, and Braxton Harlow; and special friend, Patty Tomlin, Amory. Honorary pallbearer will be W. D. Duncan.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a son, Shane Johnston; sister, Cindy Hawkins; and brother, Tommy Hawkins.
