Karter DeWayne-Ray Tackett

Karter DeWayne-Ray Tackett, whose vibrancy and charm captivated all who met him, was born on September 23, 2024, in N.M.M.C- Amory, MS to Zackarie and Kennedy Tackett. His journey was brief yet filled with incredible moments that brought immeasurable joy to his family and friends. He passed away on April 7, 2025, at N.M.M.C- Amory, MS, leaving behind memories that will forever warm the hearts of those who loved him.

Karter was a radiant soul, often the center of attention, embodying the playful spirit of a true ladies' man. His laughter and joyful presence lit up rooms and brought smiles to faces of both young and old. Those who were blessed to know him witnessed his growing personality, which was as vibrant as the energy he exuded during his playful days.

He had a passion for life that was evident from the very start. Karter absolutely loved to eat! His delight in discovering new flavors was always a highlight. Whether cuddled in his beloved door jumper, sucking on his fingers or a chicken bone, or enjoying the thrill of belly surfing, Karter found joy in every little adventure. His playful interactions with rattles and teethers showcased a curious spirit and a heart full of happiness.

He is survived by his devoted parents, Zackarie and Kennedy (Smith) Tackett, and his beloved sister, Leighanne Tackett. Karter will always be remembered alongside his twin brother, Timothy Knox Tackett, each sharing a bond that transcends the ordinary. His loving grandparents include Stacy Smith, Clarence Smith (Pamela), and Ray Tackett (Linda), as well as his cherished great-grandmother, Opal Burrough. The family also remembers fondly Karter's aunts and uncles, Chasity Smith (Thomas Warren), Amy and Tim Allen, Bryson and Diana Tackett, Tyler Smith, Jordan Whitman, and his cousins, Wyatt Smith and Jamison Smith. Each of them carries a piece of Karter's light within their hearts.

As Karter's family reflects on the precious moments spent with him, they also honor the memory of those who have preceded him in death, including his great-great-grandparents, David and Eula Mae Kennedy, and Lacie McCalmon Tackett. While their absence leaves an undeniable void, they find solace in knowing that Karter has joined the embrace of those who loved him before.

Karter DeWayne-Ray Tackett may have left this world too soon, but his loving spirit will forever dance in the memories of those who cherished him.
