“Momma Karol” Howell

Amory – Karolyn Kamille Howell, known as Momma Karol, 70, passed away on Wednesday, November 6th, 2024, at North Mississippi Medical Center- Tupelo and was reunited with the love of her life, Michael Howell. 

Karol was born on July 22nd, 1954, in Memphis, Tennessee. After graduating from Overton High School, she married her husband of 47 years. They were blessed with two wonderful children and five grandchildren; Tim Howell (Dana), Batesville, Lisa Rutherford (Lee), Shannon, Ethan Howell, Eli Howell, Easton Howell, Gracey and Micah Rutherford.

Karol dedicated over 50 years to nurturing and mentoring children, becoming a loved and cherished person in the lives of many families. During her fulfilling career, she touched the hearts of countless children and parents alike. Karol enjoyed taking trips with her family, antique shopping, and long conversations with friends and family. 

She is survived by her children and grandchildren as well as her sister, Kelly Allette (Michael), Memphis, TN; and brother, Andy Burton, Memphis, TN; as well as her furr baby, “Penny”.

Karolyn was preceded in death by her loving husband, Michael Harold Howell; her parents, Rhondal Lee Burton and Wanda Jane Kelly Burton; and her brother, Ronnie Burton. 

Her legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. 

 A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held on Monday, November 11, 2024 at 3:00 pm at E. E. Pickle Funeral Home with Mr. Derrick Moranto officiating. Visitation for family and friends will be held on Monday at the funeral home from 2:00 pm until the service hour. 

Donations maybe made in her memory to St. Jude Childrens’ Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee.
