Karen Capps

Houston/Athens- Karen Deanne Capps, 54, passed on June 13, 2024, at North Mississippi Gilmore Hospital, Amory, following a long battle with COPD. 

She was born on March 7, 1970 to the late Willie Mae Heppe, and Jimmy Capps. She spent her formative years attending Houston and then Aberdeen High-School. Karen was a devout Christian. She was truly a kind and giving person who would help anyone in anyway she could. She was always a strong shoulder to lean on and an impartial source of wisdom for anyone seeking her advice. Karen enjoyed sewing, painting, drawing, and studying her bible. Although what gave Karen the most joy in life was spending time with her children and grandchildren. 

She is survived by her children, Christan Blake Foster (Chris), Cheyenne Prestage, James Dakota Prestage (michelle) Tiffany Allen (Jason); Tera Wood, Ashley Jackson, and many others she seen as her adopted children; brothers, Gary Capps, and Donald Capps (Tammy); sister Madisson Hood; grandchildren, Paisley, Alexis, Emberleigh, Sarah, Cloe, Jade, and Aliyah; a niece; a nephew;

She was preceded in death by her mother; Willie Mae Heppe; her father, Jimmy Capps; a brother, Jonathan Capps; and special friend, David J. Prestage Sr

A visitation/memorial will be held June 22, 2024 3pm-6pm at Athens Methodist church. 51684 HWY 278 E. Amory ms, 38821.
