Amory – Karen Sara Byars, 48, passed away on Wednesday, November 8, 2017 in Columbus. Born in Rockford, Illinois, on September 18, 1969, she was a daughter of Noah Randolph and Audrey Fredonia Clark Stanphil.

Karen attended Okolona High School. She married her sweetheart, Norman Byars, and they spent 17 happy years together raising a beautiful family. She loved spending time with her family and was known as a neat freak. In her free time, Karen enjoyed catfishing, riding around town, and running her mouth. Karen had a selfless heart and also spent much of her time working on pieces of art and drawing.

Karen liked listening to country music—especially Florida Georgia Line. She could also be found cheering on her favorite professional football team, the Green Bay Packers. She loved spending time with her family above all things, and she left behind many cherished memories. Karen will be dearly missed.

She is survived by her daughters, Raven and Sierra Spruill, both of Amory, Sariana Byars, Pontotoc; sons, Robin Byars, Hatley, Norman Byars Jr., Pontotoc; grandchildren, Shannon, Payton, and Mariah Spruill; sisters, Paula Dobbs (Herman), Aberdeen; Pamela and Patricia Lane, Rockford, IL; brother, Roger Lane (Josephine), Rockford, IL; and a host of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Norman, and her brother, Robin Lane.

A Memorial Service for Karen will be held at a later date.
