June Sartin Parish

June Parish, 97 passed away on January 7, 2017 in Ocean Springs, Mississippi. Born on June 13, 1919 in Red Bay, Alabama, she was the daughter of the late Grover Cleveland and Mary Ora Sartin.

June was of the Methodist faith and she married Ray Parish on May 9, 1942. Together they were blessed with two children. A licensed beautician, she gave up her career to become a loving and dedicated wife, mother and homemaker. June was an extremely talented artist and was a member of the Jackson County Art Association. She won many blue ribbons for her oil paintings of which her family will cherish. June always put her family first. A devoted lady who dearly loved her family, she cherished spending time with her daughter, son, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be dearly missed.

June is survived by her daughter, Ann Sanford; son, John Ray Parish; brother, Grover C. Sartin; grandchildren, Tally Anita Sanford, Matthew M. Sanford, Amy Beth Parish, John R. Parish; her great-grandchildren, Ray A. Sanford, Paige A. Sanford, and Megan Parish.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Parish.

Her Graveside Service will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, January 12 at Hatley Cemetery with Rev. Jimmy Criddle officiating.
