Amory- Juanita Roebuck Christian, 92, died Tuesday, December 24, 2013 at Oak Tree Manor. Born September 15, 1921 in Nettleton, she was a daughter of Lloyd and Ruby Blake Roebuck. She married Creston Christian. She attended Pine Grove schools, was a member of First Baptist Church in Amory, where she was a member of Sue Brown’s Sunday school class and LLL Club of First Baptist. She retired from Amory Garment as a supervisor with over 33 years of service. A lady that loved people, especially her family and friends, she enjoyed playing dominos and rook, quilting, working in her flowers garden, fishing and cooking.
She is survived by her daughters, Myrtie Pierce (Charles), Amory and Nell Hall, Tupelo; sister, Kathryn Duckett (Jerry), Tupelo; grandchildren, Karen McNeese (Dewayne), Amory, Sharon Hathcock, Amory and Pete Brown, Orlando; great grandchildren, Matt McNeese, Shayla McNeese, Danielle Hathcock, Summer Brown, Jennifer Brown and Andrew Brown; great great granddaughter, Katie Brown; nieces and nephews, Darlene Griffin, Tonya McGraw, Tim Tackett and Billy Joe Tackett.
In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by a sister, Nova Jo Tackett.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1:30 pm, Sunday, December 29, 2013 at E.E. Pickle Funeral Home with Dr. Allen Simpson and Rev. Jimmy McFatter officiating. Burial will follow in Masonic Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Matt McNeese, Dewayne McNeese, Brandon Carter, Canon Griffin, Bimbo Griffin, Sammy McGraw, Tim Tackett and Billy Joe Tackett. Honorary pallbearers will be Jim Harlow, Danny Coleman, Dennis Prichard, Jerry Roche, Bob Wilson, Billy Sizemore, Ronald Parham, Mike Ford, employees of Oak Tree Manor and Camellia Hospice.
Visitation will be Saturday evening at the funeral home from 5-8pm.
