Nettleton – Josephine W. Barnette, 89, passed away on Thursday, February 18, 2016, at her residence. Born on January 7, 1927, in Smithville, Mississippi, she was a daughter of the late James Robert and Lela Lewis Weaver.

Josephine attended school in Smithville. Josephine was of the Church of Christ Faith and she loved her precious time spent with family, friends, and especially her grandkids. Her son was one of her most important things to her in her life and she loved him dearly. She went to work at an early age and worked at Amory Garment for many years. She later became a Store Manager for the KFC Franchise in Amory. She enjoyed painting and watching her flowers grow and bloom in the garden. A woman with great faith, time spent watching Marty Stewart on RFD was something she treasured. She loved to listen to Southern Gospel music and simply being a lady in all situations. She will be missed by all that had the pleasure to know her.

Survivors include her son, Dennis Barnette (Lane), Nettleton; step-son, James Ross Barnette, Mt. Dora, FL; step-daughter, Janice Wilkerson (Reid), Hendersonville, TN; grandchildren, David Mitchell and Bobby Mitchell; Great-Grandchildren: Hannah Crocker; Kristen Pemberton; Clay, Ryan and Evan Mitchell; Drew Fowlkes; Great-Great -Grandchildren, Liam Crocker, Taylor Britt, Maddox Britt; special friends, John & Sara Carlson, Glen & Annette Flowers; Jimmy & Mary Jo Young; Hilda Downie; caregiver Corrinne;

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters Mavis West, Mildred Phillips, Marie Graves; brother, James L. Weaver.

A Funeral Service will be held at 1 PM, Sunday, February 21, 2016, at E. E. Pickle Funeral Home, Amory with Bro. Wes Stephens and Bro. Bill Monaghan officiating. Burial will follow in Jones Chapel Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Michael Ricks, David Mitchell, Bobby Mitchell, Joey Britt, Kris Umfress, Joey Shidler, and Tommy Graves. Honorary pallbearers will be James Russ Barnette, Eugene Hathcock, Glen Flowers, John Carlson, and Clay Mitchell.

Visitation will be from 5 - 8:00 PM, Saturday, February 20, at the funeral home.
