Jonell “Jodie” Taggart
Aberdeen – Jonell “Jodie” Taggart, 83, began her new life in Heaven on March 31, 2022. She was born on April 11, 1938, in Blythville, Arkansas, she was the daughter to the late Denton Sullivan and Annie Mae Northington Sullivan.
Jodie moved from Arkansas to Amory with her family. She graduated from Amory High School and obtained additional education in the nursing field. She became a licensed CNA and worked at Aberdeen Hospital. She was a good hearted lady who was loving and always took great care of her patients. She was married to Charles “Chuck” Taggart, and together they were blessed many happy years. During her lifetime, Jonell was a loving mother to her four children. Her family meant the world to her and she was always generous, making sure that they were provided for, in times of need. At times, she was direct, making sure that her communication with others was clear.
She loved the Lord and enjoyed visiting the surrounding churches. She did not believe that one Christian denomination was more important than the other. In her free time, she liked to shop online, listen to Christian music, care for animals, go out to eat, and watch Christian shows with her family. Some of her close friends were Lorie Hodges, Betty Dye, and Jean Massey. Above all, Jonell enjoyed the fellowship of her family and friends.
Her family and friends have comfort knowing that she is completely healed and in the presence of her heavenly father. She will be missed dearly and the memories of times with her will be cherished forever.
She is survived by her daughter, Carmen Trejo (Zaez), Amory; her sons, Mike Roberts (Anne), Amory, Mark Roberts (Sherrie), Aberdeen, Kenny Roberts (Sandra), Hamilton, and step-son, Joey Taggart (Kendra), Jackson, TN; grandchildren, Jimmy Roberts, Emily Mattingly, Nicole Roberts; step-grandchildren, Patrick Taggart, Blair Taggart, Kasey Rhodes, Chrissy Langham, Casey Langham, Patrick Simpson, and Taylor Simpson; great-grandchildren, Parker Robertson and Audrey Mattingly; and a host of step-great-grandchildren.
