Johnny Clifton Wright
Nettleton— Johnny Clifton Wright, 55, passed away on November 10, 2018 at NMMC in West Point. Born on June 3, 1963, in Lee County, he was a son of Clem Daniel and Dizzine Mae Gray Wright.
As a child, Johnny attended Nettleton schools. He was a self-employed painter throughout his life and took great pride in finishing a job. His closest friends were Dale Patterson, Slim Dillard, Jerry Mitchell, Frank Ainsworth, and Alan Barnett. He loved taking care of his grandkids, who brought him great joy. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing and listening to Classic Rock and Country music. He will be missed dearly by his family and friends.
Johnny is survived by his wife, Cynthia Wright; daughters, Christy Hopton, Michelle Hilliard; sons, Daniel, Billy, Jacob, and Jamie Wright; grandchildren, Devin, Melinda, Billy Jr., and Rachel Wright, Jayson and Christian Hopton; and sister, Brenda Sheffield.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his three brothers.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, November 13, 2018 at 2PM at Goodwin Conwill Cemetery in Itawamba County. Johnny’s cousin, Michael A. Wright, will speak at the service. Pallbearers will include Jerry Mitchell, Curtis Fowler, Joe Coptane, Boo Sheffield, Chris Butts, and David Wright.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 1PM-1:45PM at the funeral home in Amory.
