Johnny Hurley

Johnny Hurley, 82, passed away Friday, May 10, 2024 at Oak Tree Manor in Amory, MS. He was born April 26, 1942 to John Hurley and Mattie Bell Gray.

Johnny went to school in Five Points Alabama. He was a hard worker and willing to help anyone in need. He worked and retired from North Mississippi Medical Center in Hamilton, Alabama where he worked as a heat and air tech. He loved the Lord and was Baptist in faith.

In his free time, he enjoyed working outside, riding his four-wheeler, listening to country and gospel music, and splitting firewood. He was most pleased when he was working on something and fixed it.

A peaceful man with a heart for helping people, he was passionate about a cure for Parkinson’s. Johnny’s last ten years of life was spent living with his sister-in-law, Nell Hurley before going to Oak Tree Manor. He loved spending time with Nell and her family. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. They know he is in the presence of the Lord and that gives them comfort and peace.

He is survived by one sister, Denise Hurley Keller; one brother, Randy Hurley; and one sister-in-law, Nell Hurley.

He is preceded in death by his parents, John Hurley and Mattie Bell Gray; three brothers, Learl Dwight Hurley, Jese Hurley (Patsy), and Jimmy Hurley; and three sisters, Opel Chency (JC), Dimple Moore (Ralph) and Burnice Jackson (Jeff).

Arrangements are incomplete at this time and will be announced at a later date.
